The pickpocket used the oldest trick in the book on her.

“At around 6pm on Saturday, December 20, Jevy Sandoval, 30, an online seller of dresses, had her wallet stolen by a man inside 168 Mall in in Binondo, Manila,” reports Rachel Joyce E. Burce in Tempo.

The report revealed that Sandoval was talking to her client on he cellphone as she was walking through the mall. After a few moments, she said a man bumped into her. After that, she discovered that her wallet was missing.

Case investigator PO2 Ryan Fortich of the Manila Police District Station 9  disclosed that “aside from PHP6,000 in cash, Sandoval also lost her PhilHealth ID, other significant documents and receipts, as well as the TIN ID of her friend.”

Sandoval reportedly told Fortich that the 168 Mall guards didn’t help her with her problem, so she got in touch with the police.

The report indicated that police are reminding people that pickpockets are working overtime during the holidays.
