Samboy Lim now out of ICU, still in coma but breathing on his own

“Philippine basketball legend Avelino ‘Samboy’ Lim Jr. was finally moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) of The Medical City last Saturday, December 20,” reports GMA News Online.
 
The report noted: “Sports columnist Joaquin Henson told GMA News’ Mark Zambrano in a text message that Lim was transferred to the hospital’s intermediate care unit.”

Henson went on to reveal that a trache still in Lim’s throat but, but that he was already breathing on his own. Moreover, Lim’s organs are said to be stable.

It may be recalled that Lim after had collapese during an exhibition game and was rushed to The Medical City on Nov 28.
 
Witnesses said Lim was “stretching on the sidelines during the game at the Ynares Sports Arena when he collapsed.”
 
The report likewise pointed out that Lim earned the nickname “The Skywalker” for his aerial skills. He was a member of the San Miguel Beer team that snagged the 1989 Grand Slam championship.
