Is it just us or are crimes involving gunmen on motorcycles on the rise again?

“Edwin Catran, 21, died and his sister, Rosemarie Sespene, 26, wounded when a gunman on a motorcycle shot them in Tondo, Manila at dawn on Monday January 19,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

The report noted: “The siblings had just left the house of Catran’s partner when they were waylaid at the corner of Wagas and Sgt. Mabagos streets in Tondo.”

Sespene was hit in the arm but was declared out of danger. However, Catran died on the way to the Gat Andres Hospital.

According to Senior Police Officer 3 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District’s Homicide Section, they are looking at “jealousy” as possible motive for the attack.
