On Fri, Jan 23, an explosion occurred across a bus terminal in Zamboanga City. Initial reports said that one person was killed and 48 wounded.

Unfortunately, the numbers have gone higher.

“Zamboanga City police public information officer SPO2 Alex Mabalot revealed that the death toll from the blast rose to two as of Saturday morning, January 24,” reports GMA News Online.

Mabalot said that aside from the two dead, “at least 52 were wounded, with 10 of them still hospitalized.”

The report noted: “But Mabalot declined to comment on what they suspect to be the motive behind the blast, saying investigators are ‘still digging deeper into the case to find the motive and identity of the perpetrators.'”
