What made him think he could escape from a bunch of cops?

“A man riding a motorcycle named Ardy Dalanon, 25, was arrested after he ran over Police Officer 2 Jimmy Pelagio, who tried to flag him down at a checkpoint in Manila shortly before midnight Thursday,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

The report revealed that Pelagio is now confined at the Chinese General Hospital after suffering broken bones.

According to investigators, “Pelagio was one of several policemen manning a checkpoint at the intersection of Jose Abad Santos Avenue and Antipolo Street when Dalanon, riding a black and white Rusi motorcycle, arrived in the area at around 11pm.”

The report noted: “Police officers flagged down Dalanon since his motorcycle did not have license plates. When Dalanon tried to speed away, Pelagio blocked his path.”

Dalanon ran over but then he lost control of his motorcycle and fell to the pavement. Other police officers at the checkpoint then took him into custody.
