What’s his explanation for this?

“The findings of report by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) may mean that detained-Senator Jinggoy Estrada may again be in hot water not just for plunder, but also for possibly misdeclaring his wealth and laundering millions of alleged kickbacks from the pork barrel scam,” writes Marc Jayson Cayabyab on Inquirer.net.

In a 90-page report obtained by Inquirer.net, the AMLC reporteddly noted the following (words directly quoted from Inquirer.net report):

1. A significant discrepancy between the cash on hand/in bank declared in Estrada’s Statement of Assets and Liabilities Networth (SALN) from 2006 to 2012 and the cash in Estrada’s bank accounts according to the inquiry report.

2. Estrada’s alleged conduits Francis Yenko and Juan Ng received money from accused pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim Napoles, as well as deposited money to Estrada’s bank accounts. At one point, Ng received money from a Napoles-linked NGO and transferred these to Estrada’s bank account.

3. Estrada and his aides Pauline Labayen and Ng received millions in funds in their banks around the time principal whistleblower Benhur Luy said they received Estrada’s kickbacks from Napoles.

The report also presented a chart highlighting the supposed discrepancies between the amount indicated in Estrada’s SALNs and the alleged actual amount he had in his bank accounts.

The AMLC then said: “There are indications of money laundering scheme using the aforementioned bank accounts.” It then added: “There is, however, a need to conduct further investigation to determine the extent of the subjects’ participation.”
