You know it’s really the year of Pinoy cuisine when even Facebook employees get served kare-kare and pork sisig for lunch at the in-house cafeteria of its New York office.

The spread was themed “Thrilla in Manila” and served on January 12.

The meat entrées consisted of pork sisig with fried egg and chicken kare-kare. Choices for vegetarian mains were lumpia and pancit.

The cafeteria, Desimone’s, also served spaghetti with banana ketchup.

Said one employee: “Almost everything on the menu was new to me, and it was all great.” Another employee praised the chicken kare-kare and called it “amazing.”

For dessert, employees were exhorted to build their own halo-halo.

We want what they’re having.
