“On Tuesday morning, January 27, the temperature dropped to 18.1°C at the Science Garden in Quezon City, the lowest recorded temperature for Metro Manila so far since the cold Amihan season kicked in late last year,” reports GMA News Online.

However, as the report pointed out, “this is still a far cry from the coldest temperature ever recorded at the Science Garden: in 1963, the temperature dropped to 14.9°C there.”

The Philippine Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has said that the cold weather in the country may last until the first week of March.
