4 new cheesecake flavors from Indulgence by Irene

It seems like cheesecakes have become fashionable as of late, with home bakers and restaurants selling the Japanese kind, which is relatively pillowy and fluffier than what we have been accustomed to. But why bother having the lighter alternative when cheeseckes are meant to spoil and oblige rich cravings? Indulgence by Irene gets it, spot-on.

Her cakes are creamy, but don’t have a heavy body — you know, the type so dense it’d make you raise the white flag after a bite or two. I think she got the the Graham crust-filling ratio downpat. And her cheesecake line gives the flavors justice by highlighting the taste, instead of hiding it like others do. There’s no mistaking the flavor to be something else because it’s pretty apparent in every bite.

Her tablea, quezo de bola, Choc Nut, ube and calamansi cheesecakes have already made big fans out of many people. And it won’t be a surprise if her new slew of variants does the same.

For her new line, baker Irene Co strays from the local but not from the familiar. She also introduces two variants that’s been mixed with liquor. Don’t worry. They aren’t intoxicating. Instead, they are tempered with just the exact amount of alcohol.

It’s time to give in and indulge.
