Arresting this many people at the same time is quite an accomplishment.

“Bureau of Immigration (BI) authorities recently arrested 73 foreigners from China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, America, Australia, Singapore, and South Korea who are illegally working in an online gambling den in Makati City,” reports The Daily Tribune.

According to BI Intelligence chief Jose Licas said the raid was conducted after they received information that “a number of foreigners were working as call center agents at Super 777 Ventures, but they were actually online gambling agents.”

Licas revealed that a syndicate was running illegal online gambling operations masquerading as a call center business.

When they were arrested, none of the caught foreigners had working permits. They only had tourist visas.

Moreover, as the report indicated, “the manager or operator of the online gambling den was not present when the immigration agents raided the office.”

The 73 foreigners were brought to the BI office in Manila and will be immediately deported and banned from returning to the Philippines.
