Christine Balaguer, the deaf candidate who was recently presented as one of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant hopefuls this year, is no longer part of the competition. She confirmed this herself through a Facebook post where she explained that it’s her “big dream to be the first deaf candidate to win Bb. Pilipinas” but that Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) made her resign.

In an interview with Rachelle Siazon of Pep.ph, she explained that she cried when the legal counsel of BPCI told her about this, and that until now it’s not clear why she was asked to resign from the competition.

Christine is a model who also joined the 2014 Miss World pageant. Her life story was also featured in an episode of MMK, where beauty queen Venus Raj portrayed her.

The BPCI sure is in a bad light. After bad outfit choices for Mary Jean Lastimosa in Miss Universe, now it’s this.

Tsk tsk tsk.
