“A necrological service for 44 slain Special Action Force troopers who were killed by Moro rebels was temporarily halted Friday morning, January 30, after President Aquino came late to the service,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report revealed: “Video footage taken by ABS-CBN News showed families and supporters of the slain troopers waiting patiently inside the multi-purpose hall in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig for about 30 minutes until the President arrived.”

The report also revealed that Aquino was “sporting a black armband on his left arm.” He went to each coffin to pray briefly and then condole with the family members of the slain commandos.

Aquino was in a closed door meeting with the families of the fallen PNP-SAF cops before the service resumed.

The report recalled that Aquino “earlier confirmed that he talked directly to Police Director Getulio Pascua Napeñas before the anti-terror operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao that left 44 police commandos dead.” He had told reporters the operation targeted terror suspects Zulkifli bin Hir alias “Marwan” and Abdul Basit Usman.
