Parents have the right to go ballistic, but this is too much.
“A 14-year-old student is in critical condition after his father repeatedly hacked him with a bolo and hit him with a chair in their home in Catanauan, Quezon,” reports Danny Estacio in Tempo.
The report noted: “Police said the victim (name withheld) is now undergoing treatment in a hospital in Lucena City after his father, identified only as a certain ‘Aldo,’ attacked him.”
According to the police, the boy was washing dishes at about 7:30am when he informed his parents that his teacher wanted to talk to them. He said it was because he was being accused of bullying his classmate.
When Aldo heard this, as the report revealed, “he hit his son on the knee with a chair and then hacked him with a bolo four times in the back and once in the head.”
The boy was rushed by his grandfather to a nearby hospital, but doctors recommended his transfer to a hospital in Lucena City for further treatment.
A case of frustrated parricide in Relation to R.A. 7610 (anti-child abuse law) will be filed against Aldo.
