Jolo Revilla rushed to hospital due to gunshot wound

On Sat, Feb 28, Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla has been brought to a hospital in Muntinlupa for a gunshot wound.

“According to the Revilla family’s spokesman, Atty. Raymond Fortun, Revilla accidentally pulled the trigger of a a .40-caliber Glock pistol that he was cleaning at their home in Ayala Alabang on Saturday morning,” reports GMA News Online.

As of the reports 9:15pm update on the same day, Revilla was said to be “in stable although still groggy from medicine that he was given at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City, where he was brought for treatment.”

Fortun indicated that Revilla will have to stay in the hospital for the next 48 to 72 hours.

The report likewise noted: “Revilla’s mother, Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla and brother Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla are already at the hospital, and that Senator Bong Revilla, who is detained on graft charges in connection with the pork barrel scam, already knows about the incident.”

Revilla’s talent manager Lolit Solis had earlier told GMA News Online that he “sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his upper right chest.”
