This is telenovela material.

“Just recently, Atty. Jiecel Tiu was allegedly hit by a baseball bat by Pearl Ungab, who accused her of having an affair with Vice Mayor John Ungab of Ronda, Cebu,” reports Jaworski Alipon on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Tiu has denied the affair.

The 41-year-old Pearl, who is seven weeks pregnant, is the wife of the vice mayor. They have five other kids together. Pearl is now under hospital arrest.

The report noted: “One of Tiu’s witnesses is a street vendor at Cogon-Ramos Street where the incident allegedly happened. Tiu said that the vendor saw how Pearl smashed the window of her car and hit her with a baseball bat.”

However, Pearl has denied Tiu’s allegations. Instead, she claimed that she “was with her two-year-old daughter when she saw Tiu.” She alleged that she “tried to approach her to talk about the issue, but the lawyer allegedly used pepper spray on her face.” Plus, she said Tiu had run them over with her car.

Ungab reasoned that she only attacked Tiu when she saw that her daughter was hurt.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Mayor’s League of the Philippines Cebu (VMLP-Cebu) chapter is inviting Vice Mayor Ungab to speak and clarify the issue.
