When money is involved, it pays to be paranoid.

“The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has closed down an employment agency that had allegedly illegally recruited more than 100 Filipinos ostensibly to work at a wine factory in Japan,” reports Kyodo News on ABS-CBNnews.com.

According tp POEA officia Romelson Abang, Jomhadz International Corp., which is based in Antipolo, Rizal province, and also has an office in Manila, was shut down on last week based on complaints by its applicants.

In fact, none of the applicants were ever able to leave to work in Japan.

The bogus firm allegedly charged an applicant a placement fee of PHP150,000 Philippine pesos (approximatelyUS $3,400). It turns out the firm has no valid license from the POEA to carry out recruitment activities.
