The Fire Prevention Month curse goes beyond Metro Manila. In this case, though, it seems the affected people managed to deal with it just fine.

“The stockroom of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 10 Office in Cagayan de Oro City caught fire at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 4,” reports Rod Bolivar on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted: “The fire started from the main building’s circuit breaker. Only a handful of old documents were lost in the fire, as DSWD employees were able to put out the fire before firefighters arrived.”

Authorities are still trying to find out “if the ongoing welding in a new building under construction in the DSWD compound could have caused the fire.”
