Antonio’s fine-dining restaurant in Tagaytay, owned by chef Tonyboy Escalante, placed 48th in this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015.

The list is based on a regional vote by 300-plus industry experts from across Asia.

There have been no restaurants from the Philippines in the list since the awards were given out in 2013, but with our improving economy and food and beverage scene, who knows?

In last year’s top 10 winners were Bangkok, with two restaurants, including Nahm, named number one; Tokyo, two; Hong Kong, three; Singapore, two; and Shanghai, one.
