She says she needs it for support.

“The mother of slain transgender Jennifer Laude is open to a PHP21-million (USD474,176) settlement from American suspect Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton,” reports GMA News Online.

Julita Laude said in Filipino, “I need the support that my child gave me in the past. When she died, I no longer had any means of support.”

The report noted: “Citing an unnamed source, the report said that aside from the PHP21 million, the Laude family is also seeking a confession from Pemberton, who is currently detained at a U.S. facility inside Camp Aguinaldo.”

The report recalled: “Laude was found dead inside a motel in Olongapo City in October 2014. The victim was last seen alive entering the establishment with Pemberton, who was among the many American soldiers who are in the Philippines for joint military trainings.”
