You should dress to fit the weather — but that doesn’t apply in church.
“Fr. Jerome Secillano — who serves as the public affairs committee executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) — said that even if the temperature might have begun to rise, parishioners should not use this as an excuse to show more skin when they attend mass,” reports Evelyn Macairan in The Philippine Star.
Secillano pointed out that “the faithful should not wear clothes with plunging necklines, spaghetti-strap dresses, short shorts, sports attire such as sleeveless shirts, caps, hats, and cycling shorts.”
Secillano added, “If the heat is unbearable, the faithful may settle for light-colored clothes or those made of thin materials.”
Moreover, the priest also said church officials “should also install more electric fans and explore other measures to make parishioners more comfortable.”
