Be ready with your rain gear.

“Based on data from the Japan Meteorological Agency, the country may experience a rainy Holy Week due to an erstwhile low pressure area which has intensified into a tropical storm with international name ‘Maysak,'” reports Ellalyn de Vera in Manila Bullletin.

As of Fri morning, Mar 27, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) estimated the cyclone at about 3,300 kilometers east of Mindanao and outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

Meanwhile, a Weather Philippines Foundation (WPF) advisory cited in another Manila Bulletin report revealed that the center of the tropical depression was located some 3,320 kilometers East of Eastern Mindanao at 7pm that same day.

PAGASA said that if the weather disturbance maintains its present speed and track, it may enter the PAR by Wed morning, Apr 1, and will be given a local name of “Chedeng.”
