Food news: Sandaime, a licensed buyer at Tsukiji Fish Market, is opening in Quezon City in April

Got a tip? Send it to us at manila@coconuts.co.

Just in: Japanese seafood restaurant Sandaime is opening at the ground floor of Eastwood Mall in Libis, Quezon City this month.

Why are we excited about Sandaime? One, because it is a licensed buyer at the famed Tsukiji Fish Market in Japan. And two, because it promises to deliver fresh catch straight from the market to the Philippine in under 24 hours.

The restaurant specializes in teishoku-style menu, that meal sets that offer a viand with steaming rice and all-organic miso soup. Of course, with the Tsukiji Fish Market name drop, diners can and should expect a wonderful sushi and sashimi extravaganza. Ramen, tonkatsu, curry and tempura have been named house specialties as well.

There isn’t a specific date just yet of its opening in April, though. So we’re keeping tabs on this one and will report back to you ASAP. In the meantime, let us drool on food photos, shall we?
