After being granted permission to attend his son’s graduation ceremony, detained Senator Jinggoy Estrada now has another request for the Sandiganbayan.

“Detained Senator Jinggoy Estrada is again asking the Sandiganbayan 5th Division for a short furlough to have a medical check-up of his painful shoulder at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City,” reports Jester P. Manalastas on Journal Online.

In a two-page motion submitted to the Sandiganbayan, it was stated: “After the permitted therapy sessions [last year], Estrada had not been clinically examined to determine the result of the aforesaid therapy session. For the past weeks, the pain in his left shoulder had been increasing and last week till last night had been unbearable.”

The report recalled: “Estrada has been detained for several months now at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame on plunder and multiple graft charges due to his alleged involvement in the pork barrel fund scam. Prosecutors claim that Estrada earned some PHP183 million kickbacks from the projects funded by the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) from 2004 to 2010.”
