Exclusive! 3 confirmed collaborations between international and Pinoy chefs for memorable ‘Flavors of the Philippines’ dinners

My chef friends might kill me for spilling the beans but it’s news that’s just too exciting not to tell everyone.

To promote and drum up interest for the highly anticipated Madrid Fusion Manila, happening from April 24 to 26 at the SMX Convention Center, organizers are holding side events that they like to call ‘Flavors of the Philippines.’

One of those ‘Flavor of the Philippines’ events is a series of special dinners where international chefs will collaborate with selected Philippine chefs.

It was earlier reported that Elena Arzak and Andoni Aduriz of Mugaritz are hosting two separate degustacions with Jose Luis Gonzalez in Vask. The seats sold out within minutes, and a lot missed out on the chance to enjoy a meal by these star chefs.

Well, don’t fret as the organizers of the gourmet food summit are working on a new set of collaborations. This much I can say: they’re polishing off the details and you can expect Coconuts Manila to be announcing them soon.

In the meantime, here is my inside scoop: these are the 3 confirmed chef collaborations for more of those special dinners.

1. Paco Roncero and Margarita Forés at the Fairmont Hotel

 2. Mario Sandoval and Myrna Segismundo at The Peninsula Manila

 3. Alvin Leung and Jordy Navarra at the Black Sheep

Oh, but wait there’s more. We hear that Ivan Brehm of Singapore’s current it restaurant Bacchanalia is now in talks with Jordy Navarra for another special dinner.

Coconuts Manila will update you on any development regarding this.
