Rico J. Puno has survived the seven-hour heart surgery he just underwent after having an angiogram last Saturday, April 25, 2015, and discovering he had a clogged aorta.

The veteran singer, who almost suffered a heart attack after a concert back in 2012, had difficulty breathing during the taping for his ABS-CBN show Home Sweetie Home on April 21, so he was told to go home and rest. He went to Makati Medical Center  for a check-up a couple of days later where he was asked to be confined and placed in the intensive care unit.

The singer, best known for hits such as “Macho Gwapito,” is now recuperating.
