That’s Spanish photographer and curator Nicolas Combarro on the poster and his Masterclass workshop and exhibit is the highlight of Metro Manila’s first photography festival.
Yup, you read that right. Our city looks like the hip happening little bunny that it has become these days.
After hosting several music and arts festival, here we are now, doing a photography fest. Or to be more specific: A micro festival of contemporary photography.
Foto Semana Manila is a week-long photography fest happening around Metro Manila from May 18-24. In store are several different events that will take place in several different venues across Metro Manila.
There is, as we mentioned, the Masterclass workshop and exhibit by Combarro, who happens to artist/photographer Wawi Navarroza’s mentor while she was taking her masters in Madrid.
The portfolio reviews, public talks, curated slideshows, and industry soirees should certainly interest both photographers already neck-deep in their craft and newbies trying to get their name out there.
And because “The Rise of the Photobook” is one of Foto Semana’s main agenda, flash book launches, presentations, and a photobook showcase will also happen.
Sounds cool, right? Tickets go on sale tomorrow, May 1, but you can register and reserve your seats here.
