Is Metro Manila a haven for robbers?
“The Southern Police District (SPD) — which covers Makati, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay, Pateros, and Las Piñas — has recovered 145 stolen motorcycles over the past week,” reports Mike Frialde in The Philippine Star.
According to SPD director Chief Superintendent Henry Rañola, the number of recovered motorcycles is the largest since 2012.
The report noted: “The stolen motorcycles were recovered under the Oplan Lambat-Sibat anti-crime operations and at checkpoints set up under Oplan Galugad, Rañola said.”
The motorcycles’ owners claim them at the SPD headquarters after showing proof of ownership.
