GoPro uploaded this video of three Filipinas playing a single guitar all at the same. Cute and talented!

The girls, Marga Abejo, Jenny de Vera, and Iqui Vinculado, make up Triplefret, an all-girl classical guitar trio from Metro Manila. The girls are no hobbyists. Marga, Jenny and Iqui, who are somewhere between 26-27 years old, have been formally trained in the University of the Philippines College of Music and the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music.

Contrary to what GoPro wrote on its YouTube channel, the three girls are not sisters. “We’re just always mistaken as sisters,” clarifies Jenny de Vera.

She also tells us the piece they were playing on the video is a Jamaican folk song called “Calypso.”

Apparently, GoPro contacted the ladies in Oct 2014 after seeing a video of their June 2014 performance in Geneva, Switzerland. “Marga is the one who is into GoPro. She found a the strap and then decided to put it on the head of one of the guitars while we played the show. Then we uploaded it on Facebook and Twitter, and I think that’s where they found it.”

In January 2015, the girls started filming. The original idea was to perform the song in different locations and then edit it in such a way as to vary the background. “We shot in ten different locations around Metro Manila, mostly in UP. But it didn’t turn out the way we planned it. The one they chose, was shot in the Lagoon of UP Diliman.” It was all self-produced.

The video, which was uploaded on Mother’s Day, currently has 94,642 views.
