This seems to be a hot trend among criminals.

“Manila Police District (MPD) personnel arrested on Saturday, May 23, two armed men in police uniforms — a welder named Teodorico Castillo and his neighbor Antonio Abella, both 43 years old — after they attempted to avoid a checkpoint in Pandacan, Manila,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

Police officers found eight bullets and a .45 caliber pistol in Castillo’s pockets. Police also learned that Castillo also pretended
to be a reporter once in a while.

Meanwhile, a .38 caliber revolver was confiscated from Abella, 43.

The report noted: “The MPD said the two men were riding a motorcycle along Jesus Street in Pandacan when they encountered police officers patrolling near a checkpoint. Instead of proceeding to the checkpoint, they sped away, prompting police officers to chase them. The two men are currently detained at the MPD pending the filing of charges.”
