With almost a week before the opening of classes, thousands of tourists are still enjoying the white sand and party places in world renowned island of Boracay.

Some local and foreign tourists covered the beachfront while others, especially the kids, enjoyed the pool of some resorts in the island.

Motorbancas are also busy for those who are going island-hopping.

Despite the huge influx of tourists and the APEC Ministers for Responsible of Trade Meeting, which was held in Boracay over the weekend, the island remained peaceful and orderly.

Police Regional Office 6 Director Chief Superintendent Josephus Angan said Boracay was zero crime during the duration of APEC meeting.

After almost 22 days in Boracay, some members of the augmentation force of the Philippine National Police are now back with their respective units.

Meanwhile, the 2-day APEC Ministers of Trade Meeting formally commenced on Sunday.

One of the topics discussed was how to help micro, small, and medium enterprises in the Asia Pacific Region.

The Department of Trade and Industry admits that red tape remains a big challenge.

However, the agency hopes that this concern will soon be resolved with the cooperation among the members of APEC economies.

One of the solutions is to push for e-commerce through the help of internet technology. This aims to make micro, small, and medium enterprises easier and closer to its target market.
