Gloria Gonzales, 47 — wife of Philippine Long Distance and Telephone Co. (PLDT) vice president and head of corporate relations management John Rey Gonzales — was found dead in her Toyota Innova in Laguna on Sun morning, Jun 28, ending a four-day search that began in Cavite.

“The last mobile phone transmission from Glori was at 2:30 p.m Thursday (June 25), an hour after she left their home in Parañaque City. Because the last transmission was from Silang, Cavite, the police in that province went to work, searching for her and the vehicle she was riding in, with license plate number UOS146,” reports InterAksyon.com.

The report noted: “The Innova, it turned out, had been seen parked outside a house on Batista Street, Barangay San Vicente, Biñan, Laguna since Thursday, June 25. On Sunday, June 28, police found Gloria’s decomposing body inside the Innova’s trunk. She was covered with a blanket and packaging tape had been placed over her mouth. All of her personal belongings were gone.”

The residents who had gotten alarmed by the stench that began to waft from the Innova had alerted the authorities.

Police have theorized that Gloria had been killed during a robbery, as she was known to be selling jewelry. Police could not find any of the jewelry she was said to be carrying in the car.

Gloria’s body will undergo autopsy at the Philippine National Police (PNP) crime laboratory. Her family has not yet made a statement about the tragedy. They have likewise declined initial requests for interviews.
