Makati Mayor Junjun Binay, defiant once again!

Ah, his father’s words to Sen. Pimentel may come in handy now: ‘Magpakalalaki ka.’

But if they can ignore both suspension orders from the Ombudsman, our cute little pokes won’t probably touch the surface.

Anyway, yesterday, Jun 29, the Ombudsman Makati Mayor served the second suspension order for Makati Mayor Junjun Binay and several other officials for the alleged anomalous construction of the Makati Science High School building.

On Monday, his lawyers sounded pretty confident, calling the case “weak” because you know, the construction underwent proper bidding.

But even then, the Binays look like they’re sidetracking the issue. For the second time, Junjun Binay is defying the Ombudsman. What more, they’re calling it “another attack.”

“The younger Binay said that the directive was an illustration of ‘selective justice’ that his father decried when he resigned from President Aquino’s Cabinet a week ago,” reports Marica B. Brizuela and Chrsitine O. Avendaño in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Around 1,000 Binay supporters amassed at the Makati City Hall grounds to help stop the enforcement of the order. Not surprisingly, the Vice President came to support his son and campaign.

“This is just another way for them to attack me and my family,” he said.

On Tuesday morning, an actual physical suspension order — yes, as in killed tree format — had already been posted on a wall in Makati City Hall.
