Belgian national Prosper Slachmuylders, 73 — who has been living in the Philippine since 2010 — was arrested last Jun 27 by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at his home in Barangay Soom in Trinidad, Bohol.

“Slachmuylders is accused of molesting at least 20 Filipino girls. He has been charged with child abuse, child pornography and child trafficking before the Bohol provincial prosecutor’s office,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

According to Mark Daryl Zacarias of the NBI’s anti-human trafficking division, they received a formal complaint against Slachmuylders last Jun 18. The complainant disclosed that Slachmuylders would recruit minors as maids and later sexually abuse them.

The report noted: “Recovered from Slachmuylders’ home were computers and gadgets containing nude photos of his victims. Some showed him kissing them while the girls were asleep. He also kept sex toys and four small plastic sachets believed to contain shabu.”
