Pretty please can you help Pule?

Damn you, Interwebz, and your sad stories.

After a heart attack-inducing week of Binays and asshole Jollibee scammers, we’re back to wiping copious tears from our eyes.

All because of a dog.

Meet Pule, a stray dog that’s likely a victim of a hit-and-run. He was brought to our attention by Mads Adrias.

This is her story:

“When I met him, he was curled up in pain beside the road along Maginhawa Street in Teacher’s Village Q.C. Philippines. He was being mistreated by the parking attendant.

“I noticed Pule while I was waiting for my ride. A parking attendant was about to hit him with a dustpan because he wouldn’t move out of the parking slot.

“I ran towards the parking attendant and told him that he can go to jail if he hits the dog. He tried to justify himself by saying that the dog was aggressive and would bite.

“I kept my cool and told him to be more compassionate. Then Pule stood up and struggled to move to another spot. That was when I saw his broken hind leg. No wonder he would snap at people. He was in pain.

“I asked the people there if they knew who was his owner. They had no idea and said that Pule has been there for a week already.

“I had to go to another meeting so I left but not before begging the people there to to look after him. I told them that I will be back with help.

“When help came, Pule was nowhere in the area. We found out that someone tied a rope around his neck and dragged him to the barangay hall. We can’t imagine how painful it must have been for poor Pule.

“Weng Suzara of P.A.R.T. helped me get Pule from the barangay hall and bring him to Pet Project Veterinary Hospital.

“To help manage his pain due to the fracture, he was given anti-inflammatory and pain meds.  When his blood test result came out normal, he immediately underwent operation to amputate his hind leg.”

Adrias has started a fundraising campaign for the dog she has started calling Pule on YouCaring.com. They aim to raise a mere USD 600.

“This is where I am knocking on your kind hearts. If you guys can spare any amount for his surgery, meds and rehabilitation… it will help a lot. Sharing this post can also be your way of helping.

“Despite what Pule went through, he remains to be a sweet and affectionate dog.  My hope for him is that he gets better and finds a loving family to shower him with kindness and affection.”

Tissue, please.
