Our question: Are other detainees given the same treatment as this man is getting?

“Ampatuan patriarch, Andal Ampatuan Sr., one of the more than 100 suspects in the  Maguindanao Massacre, remains in critical condition at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in Quezon City,” reports InterAksyon.com.

The report noted: “In Cotabato City, the Ampatuan family is calling for prayers for the early recovery Andal Sr., one of the principal suspects in the November 23, 2009 bloodbath that killed 58 people.”

Andal Sr. has been in coma for the past several days. On Wed, Jul 15, his detained relatives — Andal Sr.’s sons Andal Jr., Anwar Sr., and Zaldy, as well as grandson Anwar Jr., and son-in-law Akmad — were taken to the NKTI by designated personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

The visit happened immediately after Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 approved their request to visit Andal Sr. for “humanitarian reasons.”
