Buffalo Wild Wings in Glorietta 1, Makati

COCONUTS HOT SPOT — Buffalo Wild Wings recently opened its second location at the ground floor of Glorietta 1, along Palm Drive, Ayala Center near Holiday Inn this July. Setting this Makati location apart from its Pasig location is its gaming wall. There are three XBOX1 consoles with a set of controllers free for all diners to use while waiting for their orders.

True to its reputation, BWW-Makati screams game day. The interiors are carefully put together as would any serious sports fans. Apart from the myriad of 33” flat screen TVs — showing nothing but sports, mind — and the gaming consoles, brick walls are lined with framed jerseys. Kudos for the ample space the restaurant gives betweeen tables. They know that sports fans need their space for heckling and shouting and whatnot during game day.

Of course, what is game day without bar chow? The big story at Buffalo Wild Wings is…its wings. Duh. It’s proud of how they’re all hand-spun. Meaning the sauce is dabbed or dry-rubbed onto the wings by hand — that’s artisinal for you.

Apart from that, you can choose 13 different sauces and 5 dry-rubs that range from steadily mild (Sweet Barbeque) to a ‘roid-inducing zinger (Blazin’). There are a variety of order sizes: snack size is at 5 pieces, while large is party-hearty at 20 pieces.

BTW, anybody who can finish a snack boat size of the Blazin’ will get recognized by BWW. They’ll put your photo on the wall of fame and will give you a complementary shirt.

If anybody needs to destress all the tension that can come from watching a game, you can easily step out of the restaurant and light a cig outside. Sorry, there is no smoking section in here.

The famous Buffalo Wild Wings (starts at PHP295). The wings are imported from Australia, by the way. Pro tip: you can actually play with the sauce according to the size of your boat. If you’re ordering large, you can have them bring you four types of sauce. A snack size, 1 type of sauce.

Did we mention BWW also has burgers? These are BWW’s delicious slammer (PHP475). An order of the slammer comes with three burgers.

The wings can get pretty spicy, that’s for sure. Which, for the Pinoys, often mean rice. A side order of BWW’s dirty rice is at PHP125.

Tablegating platter (PHP725) is perfect fr gameday

Of course what is Buffalo Wild Wings experience without beer? A 23 oz starts at PHP200.

Gameday ready it is!
