There were no congressmen present when the House of Representatives joined the Metro Manila earthquake drill launched by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Thu, Jul 30.

Employees of the Lower House stood in for congressmen in a mock session around 10:30am.

At the appointed hour, a smoke machine emitted smoke as the employees evacuated to the grounds in an orderly fashion.

Some employees stood in as rescue workers or injured victims that needed rescuing.

Power to the complex was shut, gates were locked and people in their vehicles stepped out.

It must be noted that Thursday is a no-session day at the Lower House.
