Got a tip? Send it to us at manila@coconuts.co.

Given how successful the first Madrid Fusion Manila (MFM) was last April, we kind of expected there will be a second one next year.

And so here it is, a confirmation. Yes, MFM 2016 will take place from April 7-9, 2016.

Among confirmed Michelin-starred chefs are Chef Joan Roca of El Celler de Can Roca from Girona, Spain; Chef Eneko Atxa of Azurmendi from Larrabetzu, Spain; Chef Yoshihiro Narisawa of Les Creations de Narisawa in Tokyo, Japan.

The first two are three-starred Michelin chefs, while the Japanese is a 2-star wonder.

“We are excited to host the second edition of Madrid Fusion Manila, which brings international culinary experts from the East and West and provides our local chefs a significant platform to perform for the international audience,” said Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., at the contract signing in Fairmont Hotel, Makati.

With Sec Jimenez at the signing were USec for Tourism Development Benito Bengzon Jr, DOT Head of Market Development Group Director Verna Buensuceso; Foro de Debate General Manager Lourdes Plana, Arum Estrategias Internacionalizacion Director Inigo Cañedo, and Gastronomic Coordinator Mielle Esteban.

There is no word yet about who will represent Philippine cuisine in the upcoming event, but we’re already at it and will let you know as soon as things are confirmed.
