Viral: 2 MMDA traffic constables shell out own cash to help motorist

College student Jomai Moreno showed his appreciation for two Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic constables — identified as Tetchie Carmona and Maria Sol Acosta — for helping him after he figured in a traffic accident last week in the EDSA-Guadalupe area.

Moreno had hit another vehicle and so he made an emergency stop. The aggrieved motorist was asking for money for damages. Moreno didn’t have the amount quoted by the motorist.

When Carmona and Acosta approached, Moreno told them about his problem. He was pleasantly shocked when the enforcers shelled out PHP1,500 of their money to help Moreno pay the damages.

Needless to say Moreno was overwhelmed by the gesture. He took a picture of Carmona and Acosta and posted it on Facebook. In the caption, Moreno told his story and added: “After that, I paid them back as soon I got my money. Malaki pasasalamat ko kasi need ko talaga yung money that time. Nakakatuwa lang kasi hindi pala sila lahat ay buwaya, meron din palang taong mababait na tulad nitong mga to. Ayaw talaga nila magpa-picture pero pinilit ko sila (I am so grateful to them because I really needed money at that time. It’s great to know that there are good-hearted MMDA traffic constables like them who are not corrupt. They didn’t want me to take their picture but I insisted).”
