UPDATE (7:55am, Aug 17): Michael Sy Lim got in touch with Coconuts Manila to clarify that yes, he is out on bail but that no. It wasn’t three days in detention. “It was overnight,” he informs us over email.

After three days in detention, Michael Sy Lim better known as the controversial blogger ‘Fashion Pulis’, is out on bail.
On Fri morning, Aug 14, a statement from his lawyer, Atty. Regie Tongol, was posted on the blog.
He says the detention “was an unfortunate result of a loophole in our criminal justice system, which was taken advantage by some as a means to an end. My client is resolved to face this libel suit filed against him.”
On Tue, Aug 11, Sy Lim was arrested on Leviste Street in Makati over libel charges filed by Deniece Cornejo. He was later brought to the Criminal Investigaion and Detection Unit HQ located in Camp Crame.
The warrant of arrest was issued by an Antipolo court, over a blog post that contained Cornejo’s confidential medical reports.
Well, at least he’s not spending the weekend in the slammer, no?
