Typhoon Ineng caused flash floods and landslides in Northern Luzon over the weekend, killing at least 14 people and displacing thousands, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Ineng (international name: Goni) exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Mon morning, Aug 24, and is now headed for Japan.

During its onslaught, shipping was suspended, flights grounded — and roads closed by floods, landslides, toppled power lines, and uprooted trees. The photo accompanying this article shows the landslide along Kennon Road, Camp 7, Baguio City.

According to NDRRMC, as of 6pm on Sun, Aug 23, 32,648 people were evacuated in Ilocos, Cagayan, Cordillera, and Calabarzon regions. The death toll is now at 14. (with a report from ABS-CBNnews.com)
