Kris Aquino is signing off social media — for now

Kris Aquino announced on Instagram that she is signing off social media so she can rest and recuperate following a “wake up call” on Monday evening.

The Queen of All Media had been suffering from severe headaches while taping for Kris TV that afternoon — she threw up three times and her blood pressure shot to 150/100. “My sisters insisted I go to the ER because my symptoms were alarming,” she wrote.

At the emergency room of Medical City, her blood pressure had reached 200/100. “Just a bit higher could have caused a stroke.”

She is now fine, though shaken.

After thanking her team of doctors as well as her family, Kris wrote, “I solemnly promise to follow all their instructions, take my medication and will never again abuse my body. Last night was a scary wake up call for me and my loved ones, but it also made me realize how much my siblings and sons love and care for me. It really put my priorities in proper perspective.”

I’m headed home but I need to first say THANK YOU to my sons & siblings (Pinky & Manolo, Viel & Dodo, and PNoy who went straight to the hospital from the airport after his Cebu trip) – I had a severe, vascular headache from 3 PM while taping @kristvofficial_ig, threw up 3X when I got home at 6:30 PM & when my blood pressure was taken it was 150/100. My sisters insisted I go to the ER because my symptoms were alarming. At the ER my BP was 200/110. Just a bit higher could have caused a stroke. Thank you Dr. Ramos & Dr. Martinez (my cardiologists) & Dr. Tiongson (my neurologist) for taking good care of me. I had my complete bloodworks done upon waking up & also my ECG. I solemnly promise to follow all their instructions, take my medication & I will never again abuse my body because I was a slave to my work. My goal now is to achieve a healthy work & life balance. Last night was a scary wake up call for me & my loved ones, but it also made me realize how much my siblings & sons love & care for me. It really put my priorities in proper perspective. I was told to have complete rest for the next few days & to try to be stress free. So I’ll be signing off while I recuperate. P.S. PNoy said, “Kristina, yung sa Customs they’ll give a thorough explanation & a demonstration of the XRay machines to be used on Wednesday.” I hope that I remembered his message accurately & I pray for a peaceful resolution for all concerned.
