“According to Atty. Trixie Angeles, counsel of Isaias Samson, the complaint is for serious illegal detention against the entire membership of the Sanggunian,” reports Perfecto T. Raymundo for the Philippines News Agency.

The following INC Sanggunian members were named in the complaint: Glicerio B. Santos Jr., Radel. G. Cortez, Bienvenido C. Santiago Sr., Mathusalem V. Pareja, Rolando A. Esguerra, Eraño Codera, Rolando Cabrerra, and Maximo Bularan.

The report noted: “Samson and his family claim that they were treated as prisoners in their own house at Tierra Bella, Quezon City for nine days. They were allegedly guarded by armed men and not allowed to go out of their own house, their lines of telephones and Internet were cut off, and the health of his wife was endangered because she has just undergone a heart operation.”

Samson related that they were only able to escape when they pretended to go to church.
