ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Showtime made good use of their presence on Instagram and Twitter.

During the AdVice Ganda segment, Madam Bertud met an endearing 7-year-old girl in the studio. Maria Malihan, from Batangas, is blind, but in a short chat with Vice Ganda, she said it is her dream to see.

The hosts then took a selfie with Maria and told their online followers that one “like” on Instagram and a “retweet” on Twitter is equivalent to one peso. The money raised will be given to Maria to help her reach her goal, they said.

The selfie showed Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpuz, Karylle, and Jugs Jugueta with the girl and her mother.

About an hour and a half later, the photo got 88,132 likes on Instagram and more than 27,500 times on Twitter, equivalent to PHP115,632.

The hosts also promised some gifts for the child. Jugs pledged a stuffed toy, Kuya Kim got dibs on a doll, while Karylle and Anne said they will be giving her a videoke set. Vice Ganda also invited the child for a swimming session in his house.

What a great way to spread the good vibes!
