Pacman, 2 other Pinoys in Forbes Asia’s ’40 Heroes of Philanthropy’ list

They’re rich in kindness.

Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao, along with two other Filipinos, are included in Forbes Asia’s “40 Heroes of Philanthropy” list.

Pacquiao, 26, was cited for the programs done by the Emmanuel & Jinkee’s Heart Foundation, which has given more than 200 scholarships and extended more than USD$400,000 in medical assistance to needy people. Pacquiao’s contribution to relief efforts was also praised.

Diosdado Banatao, 69, the founder and managing partner of Tallwood Venture Capital is noted for setting up the Philippine Development Foundation in 2010. The foundation has spent more than USD$1.5 million to reduce poverty through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Last but not least is P.J. Lhuillier, 70, who started the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation in 2000. The said foundation has given at least 300 college scholarships to impoverished students nationwide.
