‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ back for second season

It must’ve been successful the first time because look, ABS-CBN is bringing it back for a second season.

The new season of Your Face Sounds Familiar will start in Sep, featuring eight celebrities who are set to take on the biggest challenge of their careers. For every episode, contestants will all transform to musical legends, training their voices, transforming their faces, tackling different genres — even different genders.

What would be the next musical challenge for “Harana Prince,” “The Playful Angel”, “Komikero ng Masa,” “The Dental Diva,” “The Absolute Performer,” “Soul Supreme,” “Rebel Rock Royalty,” and “The Sultry Heiress”?

“The show is too good to be put on hold kasi nung natapos yung season one, nagtatanong na agad ang lahat kung kailan ang season two. Sobrang thankful ako to be considered and to be part of season two is another blessing for me,” Jed Madela, one of the judges, said in an interview with pep.ph.

In this season, viewers will be seeing more of defending champion Melai Cantiveros, but not in another musical challenge. Melai will be sharing hosting duties with Billy Crawford in the Endemol-developed show.

Last season, the ‘Ka-Familiar’ won the hearts of the viewers, earning 51.93 percent of votes for her impersonation of Miley Cyrus during the final performance.  She also topped the ninth week for impersonating Elizabeth Ramsey.

Sharon Cuneta, who will also return as a judge, is excited for the new season.

“Nung nalaman ko na magkakasama kami ulit, tapos si Billy, si Melai, tapos yung 8 performers pa, mas gumanda yung disposisyon ko,” Sharon said in an interview on ABS-CBN.
