Liza Soberano took a week-long Twitter break. Here’s why.

Liza Soberano sent her fans into a panic after she deactivated her Twitter account (@lizasoberano) on Aug. 20. The teen star says she just cannot take all the bashing that’s going on in social media.

“I tweeted (kasi) before I deactivated, I just want to let them know na sa akin hindi okay na namba-bash kayo ng ibang tao. Kung ako ang bina-bash hayaan n’yo lang coz I can take it, I’m used to it na,” Liza explained to push.com.

Liza also said she doesn’t want to hurt other people, so she chose to undergo a one-week Twitter detox. This length of silence isn’t all that unusual, especially during a burnout.

“There are other people being bashed and ayokong manggagaling yon sa fan group ko because for me ayoko yung mga tao na matatakot… na ‘ay ang LizQuen nakakatakot yung mga fans nila, namba-bash.’ Ayokong maging ganun sila,” she said.

Liza made sure to talk to her fans about the issue before her account went dark. She says the severe online criticisms have been going on for so long, that by this time, fans should have learned not to spread negative energy to other fandoms.

“Hindi ba sila nagsasawa? Like in real life, lahat kaming teen stars, lahat kaming mga artista, wala naman pong away. So, bakit kailangang yung fans nag-aaway? Why can’t they just be happy for the success of others?” she asked.

In any case, Liza has reactivated her account on Aug. 26.

So now, the better question now is… is Liza still the one manning her account? Her last tweets include a reply to Janella Salvador’s post and a declaration of love for Justin Bieber. Yep, we can say fans are still talking to Liza herself.
