Let’s see if he got it right.

“According to Alliance of Volunteer Educators party-list Rep. Eulogio Magsaysay, Sen. Grace Poe and Sen. Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero are announcing their plans to run for president and vice president this month ahead of next month’s filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) in the 2016 elections,” reports Jess Diaz in The Philippine Star.

Magsaysay is described as “one of the two senators’ congressmen-supporters.”

Magsaysay made the claim that Poe and Escudero are gearing up for the 2016 polls in a statement highlighting his party-list group’s support of Poe’s call for more funding for scholarships for college students under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Tulong Dunong program.

Maysaysay had noted: “We are glad that Senator Poe raised this issue, and we are happy that she is formally announcing her intent to run for the presidency together with Sen. Chiz this month.”

The report pointed out that Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET)  sporkespersonIrene Guevarra said Poe can still file her certificate of candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) even before the tribunal has decided on the petition filed against her.

Guevarra explained that |the petition questioning Poe’s citizenship and residency is not a condition precedent” to her filing of her COC.”
