He may have gone overboard with using ‘po’ (the Filipino word that’s meant to show respect) in his sentences recently, but that’s only because Jon Santos just lifted the veil on his newest character for target practice: Senator Grace Poe.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jon took on the role of this “possible 2016 presidential candidate”, took a shot at the cakes that arrived at the event, and went all-out with the puns.

On Korina Sanchez:
“May dumating na cake ngayon, galing sa Cubao. May kasamang tsinelas. Baka ang nag-bake [ay] si Koring. May kasama lang tsinelas, hindi naman lasang tsinelas,” he said. Koring is the nickname of Korina Sanchez, the wife of Liberal Party presidential candidate Mar Roxas. Korina is known for giving away free rubber slippers to underprivileged kids.

On Vice President Jejomar Binay:
There’s also a cake from Makati, he said. You know what flavor? Black forest.

“Galing sa letter B. Sa bakeshop,” she pokes fun at it. You may remember that Makati was involved in the ‘great cake debate’ recently.

On Sen. Chiz Escudero and their partnership
Sen. Chiz Escudero also gave her a cake: A cheesecake, of course.

“Si Sen. Keso at ako, so (ang nickname) Keso-Poe. Huwag niyong babaliktarin ha, kasi baka tumunog yung TAN-DAN-DAN-DAN (MTRCB’s music),” Jon pokes fun.

Check out the all his punny planned projects:
– To solve the traffic, he will launch a project called ‘Trans-POE’.
– To address the looming water shortage, a campaign called Gri-POE will be unveiled.
– POE-sa will be named the national animal.
– POE-sit, the national fish.
– How would you like A-POE-linario Mabini as our national hero?
– Jon is thinking hard about the national game. It’s a toss-up between POE-ker and POE-kemon.

Jon says to avoid divisiveness, he won’t be using his last name during the elections, prompting the question: what name will she be using?

“Grace. Grace po, yun po ang pangalan ko.”

Ha ha, that quickly turned lame.
