In case like us you weren’t aware: James Reid is actually a recording artist with two — TWO! — albums to his name.
And what more, the Filipino-Australian will be slugging it out with the best artists in Asia at the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards in Milan on Oc 25.
The 22-year-old will be representing the Philippines in the Best Southeast Asia Act category. He faces stiff competition: against Singapore’s The Sam Willows, Malaysia’s Faizal Tahir, Thailand’s Slot Machine, NOAH from Indonesia, and Son Tung M-TP from Vietnam.
Apart from the 2013 release James Reid, and 2015’s Reid Alert, James also been included in the soundtrack of two of his movies, Diary ng Panget and Talk Back and You’re Dead. He also recently interpreted a song for the 2015 PhilPop songwriting competition.

Meanwhile, James’ On The Wings of Love co-star Nadine Lustre could also make it to the EMAs. There’s still one spot left for a wildcard nominee, and it will be up to the fans who will get the seventh and final nod.
Nadine will be going toe-to-toe with Akim & The Majistret (Malaysia), Gentle Bones (Singapore), Afgan (Indonesia), and Thaitanium (Thailand). MTV says the nominee fans picked will be announced on Sep 15 and will go on to compete to be a Worldwide Act winner.
Like James, Nadine also has a flourishing career in pop music. She started out with the all-female group Pop Girls, went solo, and bagged the spotlight with her tracks in the movie Diary ng Panget. She also joined the 2015 PhilPop alongside Callalily vocalist Kean Cipriano.
Hopefully, Nadine or James can carry the torch for the Philippines this year. In 2014, Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo was crowned the MTV EMAs Best Southeast Asia Act.
